Update

Hi there

Well from my last post good news.  I got the job working for St John.  Im having a blast.  Its is a real busy job.  And there is never a dull moment. I work with a great bunch of people.  I was thinking the other day, that is I had not had this surgery I would not be here doing this job which I really enjoy. St johnis a great organization to work for.  I have had a great time working on the road as a volunteer ambo officer and now I’m in paid employment working for them its great.  Mark as slotted into the full time dad roll and is loving it and the kids are really happy as well so that makes life so much easier.  His business works around the kids which is good.  I live in Browns Bay 3 nights a week with my in laws and that is great I get looked after like royalty.  I call it the Hotel.  My weight is still the same which is great so I am just maintaining it.  Im happy with that.  Mr H is an amazing man and I thank him for giving me my life back.  Somehow  I feel that I can never thank him enough.  So I will just keep on thanking him every time I see him.    Ok guys keep the posts coming I see there are a few of you posting on here and Its really good information for everyone to feed of which is good.  We can all benefit form each other and especially those who are starting this journey.

Bye Bye for now

Back soon

Hi Guys

Sorry its been so long, my life is mad.  The company that I work for is shutting its doors, my husband took voluntary redundancy about 4 months ago and we started up our own PC Repairs business.  So far things are going well for him.  I am now waiting to find a new job.  I have until June and then there will be 120 people out there with me looking for a job in a small community.  So I’m trying to beat them to the punch. 🙂  I have applied for a full time position with St John working in Communications which look really exciting.  I will know if I have the job in the next few weeks.  I will keep you posted on this one.  I am currently a volunteer officer on the ambulance, which my husband calls my hobbie day.  I love it and want to have a career with them.  Working on the ambulance was always something that I wanted to do but was to big to even try out.  The physical would have killed me.  But 4 months after my surgery I applied for a volunteer position and I passed all the requirement even the physical and 1 1/2 years later I’m doing what I always said I wanted to do its fantastic.  I would like to have another  get together with those who would be interested in coming.  There is a catch I live in Warkworth.  So for you to all travel up here is probable a bit much to ask.  If some one would be interested in hosting it at their home that would be great.  Drop me an email and we can sort out a date in the near future.  My weight has stayed the same for the last few months.  I’m really happy about that as the weight that I am i’m really comfortable.  I was a size 28 I am now a size 12 – 14.  Was 133kg  now floats between 72-74kg.  To those of you who have had the surgery its really important to keep up with the vitamins and supplements.  I will post a web site that I purchase all my vitamins of it works out heaps cheaper than the health stores or chemist.  I dont have many options up this way in regards to choice.  Any way a get together is on the cards.  Watch this space for information.

Thank you John and Susan

Thank you John and Susan for you wonderful hospitality.  We had a lovely afternoon having another catch up, there wanst to many of us but it was great just the same.  I find we are never short of a story.  If someone is interested in hosting the next get together sometime before Xmas let me know.  I would love to have you all come to my place but I’m a little out of the way. Warkworth.  Maybe Mr Hammodat may be able to join us, that would be great.  Good times Good times.

I am now a year down the track and 63kg lighter.  My food diary now is I am able eat anything that I like.  Still I am eating 100g of protein a day and will do for the rest of my life.  Food that does not agree with me but may be just fine for you is pork, bread, (pita bread is ok). Any drinks that have fizz (not good).  If I have eaten too much in one meal  (which you learn not to do very often) I have experienced this only on 2 occasions.  You will start to salivate and then you will bring the meal back up.  It is not a very nice feeling.  You may also burp a lot.  After most of my meals for the first 8 months or so I burped an awful lot, as time has gone on it has settled a lot.  I still burp but not as often as before.  My meal size has increased and I am eating about the size of a bread and butter plate for a meal.  It takes me a while to eat, but I now enjoy my food, and I am aware of my full signals.

I hope this information helps you in your Post Op Journey.

I had decided to tell my story to a magazine, to let people know that ther is another choice of weight loss surery out there for people to have more choice.  Any way my story will be running in the “Thats Life Magazinge” in the next couple of weeks.  I will keep you posted as to when the issue comes out.  I’m feeling fantastic, but feeling the cold something terrible.  I got the thermals out ans I’m wearing quite a few layers, just to keep warm.  My hands and feet suffer a bit.  Also another thing that some of you may or may not be having trouble with is my tails bone is so sore most of the time.  I spoke to my GP and to Mr Hammodat and they both said that because of the weight loss the weight distribution and the lack of padding it is as they say sore cause of that.  It feels like I have taken a fall on my tail bone but I havnt.  Some positions are ok others just about send me through the roof.  So I am trying to manage it and keep moving so I dont sit in the same place for to long.  Just thought I would mention it incase any of you are having the same troubles.  “I’m not complaining”  My life is so much better with less padding.  I weighed my self the other day and I have hit the 70kg mark.  I’m really happy at this weight.   I got energy to burn baby:)  Any way I hope all of you are doing really well and I look forward to hearing from you all.  Take care

JO
